Y.A.P.S. (You’re Always Practicing Something)

Y.A.P.S. is a collection of works that act as a cue or reminder that, for good or bad, the somatic body and the mind are always practicing something. The images represent the layers of unique neural networks in the brain. As a nerve cell (neuron) fires an impulse it travels from the cell body down the axon to the dendrites where it is released as neurotransmitters that travel across the gap (synaptic cleft) between neurons. They land on receptor sites of another neuron and pass the impulse along that neural pathway. These networks create the habits and other patterned behaviours of human animals. Even now, as you read this text and take in this work, you are practicing various forms of thinking, feeling, perceiving, interpreting.
